Your home is your abode and comfort and visual outlook come before everything else. It may not be new but that does not mean it has to look old. Get fixing all markers betraying the house has seen better times by having that paint retouch regularly, cleaning of staining window glasses and for heaven’s sake greasing the creaky doors. And by all means replace the old frayed mats and carpets.

Fix bad light and yellowing bulbs. Do away with them and have some more efficient energy saving light bulbs, and of course make them be able to light all the areas that matter like artwork, living area and such.

Also, fix those staining kitchen sinks, bathroom tabs and walls by regularly scrubbing those using appropriate detergents and leave them new-looking. All these are inexpensive easy fixes for your home that can be done with little or no outside help.
