The following are some common home décor mistakes that people make and how to seal with them:

Too many different print and pattern designs. These can be avoided by having a uniform print design in covers, curtains or carpets.

Placing a small rug in the middle of a large room. This does not augur well with the whole outlook and a larger carpet that can be tucked under furniture is ideal.

Poor lighting. A well-decorated room is rendered unattractive by bad light. Let there be ample light to project items in the correct shades.

Bad color combinations. Color blending is good but it would be better to have colors that jell and are visually attractive.

Splashing or hanging art pieces all over. Avoid this by having your artwork in a central area and in uniform height.
